| Before you start using the software you need to obtain a license key from Google. You can get this from the Google
API website. This is a simple process and you should be able to get the license key within a few minutes.
Google Web APIs are a free beta service and are available for non-commercial use only. Please read and accept Google's terms of service before using the software.
Once you have the key enter it into the appropriate box in the software. The software will remember the key. So there is no need to type it in every time.
Google Search Tool supports two modes of result display. The normal mode displays the results almost similar to the way the results are displayed by Google.
The 'Spread Sheet Display' Mode displays the results in a clean table. You will need to scroll right to view the full data. Right clicking and selecting 'Copy'
will transfer the data to the clipboard. You may then paste it into other programs like Microsoft Excel.
The keyword entry box remembers your previous searches.
The statistics box displays various information like the estimated total results at Google and the
number of searches you have performed using the Google API.
The options dialog allows you to specify various settings like number of search results, filtering mode and adult setting.
Local cache life refers to the duration for which results should be fetched from the local
cache. You may also use the Cache Browser and delete a specific search result to reset the cache for a specific keyword.
The Cache Browser allows you to browse through all the searches you have done so far. Since the software automatically saves all the search results,
the cache browser acts as a local database of your research. The result display mode within the cache browser is determined by the setting in the main window.
